This bungalow bedroom extension was built on strip footings, mass-filled with C35 concrete for a solid foundation. The structure was constructed with engineering brick and blockwork up to DPC, featuring a 150mm cavity for improved insulation and durability. A traditional cut roof was designed to create additional loft space for storage, and the roof was finished with Marley Major pan tiles and dry valleys for effective water management.
The extension features stunning green bay windows on two sides of the elevation, designed to allow maximum natural light into the room. The slab was insulated with 100mm Kingspan, topped with a 65mm sand and cement screed for a durable finish.
An opening was made into the existing house, supported by a steel I-beam for structural integrity. The interior was completed with Mexicano oak veneered doors and herringbone oak flooring, adding a high-quality, stylish finish throughout.
This extension combines practicality, additional space, and aesthetic appeal to enhance both the function and beauty of the bungalow.
